Motherhood has introduced me to a whole new version of myself. With my newborn, I have found that some part of me has also been newly born. My perspective changed and so did my life. Dear mothers, did you also face these beautiful changes within you 🙂

Discovered the hidden potential

Motherhood is undoubtedly the biggest life-changing event in a woman’s life. They say, in one life, a woman is born twice – first when she is born and second when she becomes a mother. Before motherhood, she had her list of priorities and challenges to keep up with the pace of life. And once a mother, the priorities change altogether. Within a year after the baby is born, she might be a whole new individual. This period often allows her to discover her hidden potential and face life’s challenges, revealing how much more she is capable of.

Amazed to see how miraculous nature is

Babies have our hearts. But pregnancy and childbirth(also, the fourth trimester) require a lot from you. While going through this journey, remember to go slow on yourself and take one day at a time. When the body undergoes a roller coaster of various mental and physical changes, it is certainly tough on you. But at the same time, try to see how beautiful the creation process of nature is. Day by day as you look back, you will be amazed for sure, to see how the entire universe works to heal you.

Start becoming more selfless

When you are young, chances are high that you could be very particular about the styling of your hair, the particular type of clothes you wear, the specific color shade for your nails or the food you like or your habits. We all have been there. But once the baby arrives, adjusting for the well-being of the baby becomes a priority. Your meal times change, you are not much concerned about your looks, your finances change to accommodate the baby’s needs and everything of these feels worth it. There is no greater joy than creating a safe and happy place for your children.

What does your upbringing style tell about yourself

Mothers strive to provide the best possible environment for their children. Most of the time, we try hard to protect our children from things we have suffered in life. For example, if we as children craved our parent’s time and attention, when we become parents we try to prioritize spending some more time with our children so that they not feel needy and lonely as we did. Also, if we had faced financial issues in the early phase of life, we would want our children to prioritize financial wellbeing in their life so that they do not have to face the same challenge. While raising children, spend some time reflecting on your childhood, which will add in the good upbringing of children. Always be mindful to pass on our learnings and affection to them but not our insecurities.

Self-care matters

It will always make a positive difference in your surrounding environment if you are taking care of yourself. Save some time for yourself where you can detach yourself from daily chores and routine. You can read your favorite book, listen to your favorite song, meditate, go for a walk in nature, talk to a friend or do anything that gives you a break and thereby energizes you. Our children would always love to see us as a positive and a happy parent. They look up to us. If we value healthy self-care, they try to imbibe the same in their lives developing a sense of self-worth.

Happy Parenting!
