In the battle of early birds and night owls, the world has always given more credit to the early birds. While some find it easy to wake up early in the morning, many still struggle. Waking up early will not assure you will be a successful person, but it surely has its benefits over waking up late in the morning.

Maintain Circadian rhythm

Waking up early helps you to align with a healthy circadian rhythm. Think of circadian rhythm as our body’s internal clock. Various factors like melatonin secretion for sound sleep, cortisol level in the body, and our exposure to morning sunlight are linked to the circadian rhythm of the body. Maintaining a healthy circadian rhythm helps you to make the most of your mind and body. Unhealthy eating and lifestyle practices deviate you from following a healthy circadian rhythm.

Use the undisturbed hour to carve the best version of ‘You’

You can use the extra hour you get in the morning completely for yourself. Freshen up and carry out your type of workout routine or meditate. Also, you may use this time to reflect on your life, learn something new, or take a morning walk. Like other animals and birds, we too feel the best when in sync with nature and the Sun – the primary source of energy.

Brahma Muhurta – ancient Indian Practices have special significance to this specific time of the day called Brahma Muhurta, which occurs just before sunrise. Meditation or self-reflection practices are most effective when performed during Brahma Muhurta. Make the most of this time to discover your full potential and use it for your well-being.

Tips to wake up early

1. Sleep early

Very famous saying – early to bed, early to rise. Easier said than done 🙂 However, it is not impossible to achieve this once you have a strong will to change yourself. Your willpower has the lion’s share in achieving any life goal.

-Decide the ideal sleep and wake-up time for yourself and plan your daily activities as per the time decided.

-Make sure to complete a good 7-9 hours of sleep time.

-Refer to a healthy circadian rhythm and try to follow it.

-Also, having your last meal of the day early will help you to wake up early.

2. Meditate

Take out a few minutes in a day for meditation or self-reflection. It will help you reduce stress and develop an ease in life forming a good daily routine.

3. For a few days, reserve an early morning slot for the tasks you enjoy doing. It should be something that you look forward to. For instance, it can be as simple as having a cup of tea around the time you want to be awake. Such activities will accustom your body to wake up around the same time.

Do not force any new habit onto you. Let it be a part of you willingly. The early morning sunlight is the daily dose of positive energy reserved for you.
